Both parties are actually members of the party of re-election. Gaining wealth and power is all they are really interested in. Where else can you be elected a senator and arrive in DC with no money and several million in campaign debt and just 10 years later with a 150K a year job be worth 150million? There is no other job where that is possible. The days of the citizen legislator who leaves after a term or two to return to run his business or farm are long gone. Today voting for a Republican or Democrat is like voting for a black pig or a pink pig. Either way your going to get a pig and they all feed at the same trough.
