... then you'd be raising the future liability of SS for those who paid more. Unless you want to cap their benefits, Do you know anything about this program? Benefits are capped. why not make SS a true "welfare for the elderly" program? A I don't know anybody that is talking about "welfare for the elderly" except you. It's prety weird. This is a perfect example of FUD spread by those who fear any change to SS. The CBO? The debt already takes into account the fact that the SS "surplus" is being looted every year. Diverting some of the SS tax toward private accounts just means that there will be less looting going on, but the rate at which the debt increases doesn't change. You really don't know what the F you are talking about. Go back and look at the numbers from the Bush plan. Scary shit.
