Southwest: Arizona: A Romance for O'Connor's Husband By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Sandra Day O'Connor's husband has struck up a romance with a fellow Alzheimer's patient since moving into an assisted-living center, and under the circumstances, she is just glad he is comfortable, said their son, Scott. Ms. O'Connor, the first woman to serve on the Supreme Court, cited her husband's illness and her need to take care of him when she retired in 2005. Scott O'Connor told KPNX in Phoenix that the romance had changed the outlook of his father, John, about being in the center. "Mom was thrilled that Dad was relaxed and happy and comfortable living here and wasn't complaining," Scott O'Connor said.
