To all: I'm pretty naive when it comes to shorting a stock. If I understand it correctly, you borrow the stock from your broker, sell it immediately and then sit back while the stock drops in price. When the stock price drops sufficiently you buy the stock and give it back to your broker pocketing the difference. Did I get that right and can I do that with a broker like etrade? I've never tried it before.

Does anyone here have a favorite they short regularly?

TIA,

hector
