The only question I have is, if the government will require manufaturers to sell the handgun with child saftey locks, won't they go the least expensive way and manufacture their own, as opposed to buying a high-end (and more expensive lock) from a third party manufacturer?

Now, if the government had required all existing hand gun owners to purchase locks.....
