Company Press Release
Einstein Bros Pumpkin "Ba-ghouls" and "Scream Cheese" Scare Off the Halloween Goblins
GOLDEN, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 1997--Centuries ago, the first jack-o'-lanterns were carved from turnips on Halloween Eve.

Thankfully, traditions evolve over time, or we might have celebrated Halloween with turnip pie. This year, Einstein Bros Bagels improves on the tradition by introducing a special Pumpkin Cheesecake ''Scream Cheese'' and fresh, hot Pumpkin ''Ba-ghouls'' to complement your favorite witch's brew.

You don't have to be a kid to enjoy this holiday treat. Moreover, you don't have to spend hours carving it, either. Pumpkin ''Ba-ghouls'' and Pumpkin Cheesecake ''Scream Cheese'' will be available in most Einstein Bros stores the week before Halloween until the end of the year or while supplies last.

The new bagels come in a decorative ''bagel bucket'' depicting Melvyn and Elmo Einstein donned in their favorite Halloween costumes. Einstein Bros' bagel buckets are filled with a baker's dozen of your favorite bagels, along with two tubs of the world's greatest cream cheese to dress them up.

Your bagel bucket can be used as much more than just a fancy carrying case. Try the following ideas for some Halloween fun:

use the faces on the bucket to make creative Halloween masks;
use the faces as stencils for carving a creative
jack-o'-lantern;

- cut out the faces and place them in windows for Halloween

decorations;

hold a coloring contest and color in the masks on the bucket;
fill the bucket with rocks and place it on the porch among your
jack-o'-lanterns and other Halloween decorations; and

- cut out the faces and use them as hand puppets.

Based in Golden, Colo., Einstein Bros(R) Bagels is a part of Einstein/Noah Bagel Corp., which has more than 500 bagel stores in 28 states systemwide. Einstein Bros stores feature traditional and creative bagels baked fresh throughout the day in an inviting cafe environment that combines the authentic tastes of a bagel bakery with the comfortable setting of a neighborhood meeting place.
