Basement, eh? Gotta be careful about that. Until recently it could be fairly said that private collectors took better care of books than most libraries. That's changed now, they finally wised up. They don't use that indelible pen anymore, and they're more careful with how they stamp them now.

You can find real sleepers in antique shops, but usually they think they have gold and it's an overpriced common item.

I found a nice history of the Lincoln County Wars in an antique shop in Tombstone for 20 bucks once. I brought it to my cousins who live in the heart of Billy the Kid country in New Mexico. It now resides in the small rare book room of the Ruidoso, NM public library. Neat how some of this stuff works out!
