<<<Eliminate competition and all you've done is lower the common denominator>>>

Eliminating competition would not be a good idea. At the same time, eliminating government services would also be a bad idea.

There has to be a healthy balance.

WRT health care, competition between health care vendors to provide the best services at the lowest prices is sure to work for most people. However, we can not allow large numbers of people to fall between the cracks. Praying that charity will take care of them is a cruel and unnecessary hoax.

Government has to step in to fill the gap. However, we can not just give government a blank check to do this. They will have to be given a mission that puts them in the competitive mix.

It is not easy to find this balance, but we can not let the right wing scare us from trying to do what has to be done for the greater good of all the people in this country.
