Anecdotal info from an Amazon/Ebay user.

Some here know I use Amazon and Ebay to both sell stuff and buy stuff. And that I much prefer Amazon (understatement). I think good companies should be rewarded for smartness so I post why I like Amazon better.

Here's a small example of why:

I'm a pumpkin seed addict. I buy a lot, like a cigarette addict. Everyone knows that David seeds are the kings. I've been trying to buy wholesale without much luck. Well Amazon had them at a good price but not good enough. Then some smart worker there came up with this idea, less profit but more cash flow for them.

Subscriptions. They cut prices on full boxes quite substantially if you agree to take a box a month automatically. Less accounting overhead for both of us and cheaper for me. I subscribed. I may even double my subscription. Small but brilliant idea.

I love wholesale on dry goods. Where else can you get 10% or MORE tax free for no risk period? Plus no shopping hassles. I always look for vendors who sell large amounts of non perishables at substantial discounts.

Amazon keeps thinking up better ways - Ebay just tries to squeeze its clients for more for the same old stuff.
