Elmat.. Your news is a year old. I understand the dynamic.. (why it is kept up I don't fully ) but I simply reported what Bloomberg did, that the Kuwaitis had already removed the hard peg this year. I do not know how they replaced it.

As to the currencies in general.. I like to keep it simple mostly. They are also commodities. So commodities will be commodities...

HSBC is offering a YUAN account here in Canada now.. Maybe I should start one up with my vacation leftovers :o)

Funny this is happening in Canada now.. The main argument against allowing the exchange rate to rise is that it would harm the competitiveness of the non-oil sector in economies that need to diversify. In fact the oil and other resource companies are also whining that expenses are up as at least labour and taxes are paid in the loonie...
