They extended the deadline for needing a passport, so you should get through the border with your driver's license without a problem....but if you have under-age kids without both parents in the car, they get excited unless there is a signed permission note (doesn't matter if its your kid/grandkid). Roads are pretty decent right now - just drove the highway down from Fairbanks. robert
