The basic flaw in your thinking is connecting tax rates with deficits. Deficits are the result of spending more than revenues...Duh.


On the contrary, there is considerable evidence to suggest that tax rates/cuts are directly related to deficits. In the last 25 years, deficits have gone up when taxes were cut:
