is a classic example of people beginning to feel the pinch of a declining standard of living

...and it's exactly what's NOT happening! Didn't you read the post? People are flying in record numbers! The flights are averaging 90% full, despite the high prices! My point was that people are obviously NOT feeling the pinch, or they wouldn't be behaving as they are.
