Thats exactly what your sounding like. Dating some chick from Greenpeace or what? Your really starting to sound like an earth firster with all kinds of objections and only one plan, more government.

With that said, is CO2 a problem, or isn't it? If it is and it's as bad as the cult of GW claims it is then we are insane to not be building nuclear power plants as fast as we can. It's the only option available now.

France in the late 70's learned from the energy crisis and went nuclear. Because of a national mandate they are very, very good at it. They also reprocess their spent fuel and are able to recycle almost 75% of their wast greatly reducing the amount of waste. The left over waste is being stored to fuel their next generation of nuclear reactors which will operate on the waste from the previous generation. This has happened because as a nation they decided nuclear was the way to go.

We on the other hand decided that the earth firsters and the court system should rule. So we are not only unable to build nuclear power plants the power companies because of that expend no energy or money to research it to find better ways. They have also prevented us from building hydro plants because we may harm a snail or some such nonsense. I talked with the head of NSP some years back at a golf outing and he said due to the envirowackos the Jim Falls dam was 3x budget and 8 years late. The payback instead of 8 years is now 35 years. They will never build another dam.

So whats left? Coal and CO2. The enviro's have forced us to increase our CO2 output. They have no answers. They just sue to stop any progress. Soon we will have brown outs and black outs because of it. We have endangered our nation to appease a bunch of fringe wackos that are out spiking trees and suing to stop progress.

And since there is no debating these issues I'm done talking about them. We're screwed at this stage and the earthers have won. At some point we won't have the oil to drive and we won't have power and they will have their wish and we will be living back in the dark ages. Since the majority I've met could no more live off the land and care for themselves I'm thinking they ain't going to like what they have created.

Of course there is always the hope at some stage that sanity and science prevail and we get our energy and environmental policy out of the court room and out of the hands of un scientific morons like Al Gore. I'm not holding my breath however even though that would help lower CO2.
