Apparently there were some "W" keys missing. How many is unclear, the numbers range from 10 to 150. The 150 figure appears to contain keyboards replaced for other reasons.

In addition, various pranks apparently are common in a transition. There were some claims that the vandalism, trash and pranks were worse during the transition from Bush to Clinton.

In summary, there is no reason to believe that the Clinton staffers left things in any worse condition than what happened with previous administration changes. Some of the claimed vandalism seems to have been just lack of maintenance.

In other words, the whole "scandal" was made up.
