"The statement itself is simple; the transaction it purports to describe is not." The transaction is also simple...budgeting 101. What's complicated is the tax rate/tax revenue determination....where you are on the Laffer curve. Which is why I know you can only have an OPINION on whether raising the tax rate will increase tax revenue. Since you don't seem to be qualified in budgeting 101...you don't have a prayer at KNOWING the answer regarding tax rates.
