Beyond the problem of getting shares to short and the uptick rule, I think there is a very good chance DDIM will gap down significantly when it breaks. You may very likely never get the chance to buy cheap puts. Don't forget Essex Investment Management owns 1,306,000 shares. Look at last Tuesday when reported volume was only 100,000 shares, which means 50,000 shares traded as NASDAQ reported volume counts both sides of a trade. The Essex position alone is more than one month of "natural" volume. Add in Fido's and Larry Martin's shares and I think very little selling could translate into a huge move.
