No woodsheds - you had a clear POV that you argued with spirit and courtesy. That's what keeps this thread going.

"Agree to disagree" is always a fair outcome here.

I cannot express fully what a pleasure it is to read logical, fact-based debate amongst intelligent people of goodwill.

SI hasn't had such a fine thread since Ken [Faultline] stopped moderating FADG.

One need only venture out into the fever swamps to see how unusual it is to have people passionately arguing while remaining civil and even friendly.

Ken at FADG didn't ban people at their first post or ban them precisely because they had firsthand experience in Iraq (as Baker did Hawkmoon). Ken didn't violate his own rules in his own header as Baker does either.

The patting themselves on the back is barf-inducing.
