Who was it, was it Whitehead who railed about the "fallacy of misplaced concreteness"? I think so. Good old Whitehead, eh? What's that guy up to these days? Haven't heard from him in a while..... In other words, huh? GWB is the problem; not dynasty. The father was acceptable. Clinton, the husband, was quite good. Not perfect, not even close. But much better than acceptable. If she could do as well as Bill, hey, I would take it. Even though GWB has left a much larger mess than the Reagan/Bush crew did. Yeah, Bush is more of a problem than your average dynastic leader, but nevertheless it's the principle that I object to. We'd rather have a president become such because she earned it through her own efforts and hard work and ability, not because of her relative. It's hard enough for the best and brightest to get themselves heard - dynastic politics just makes it harder for the really capable to rise. McCain in 2000 comes to mind. Dynastic politics is a characteristic of 3rd world countries where family or celebrity is generally more important in elections than ideas and talent. It's bad for the system.
