Dale; Ronald Reagan then Karl Rove - they demonized everyone who wasn't on their side of the aisle.....by saying government was always an evil problem I'm going to respectfully disagree a little here. I think the change occurred when the christian fundamentalist got a hold of the party. Granted they argued that government was always evil - but when it came to pushing their narrow christian beliefs, they were effective in arguing for governmental power. ......We see this grip by the CF yet today when all of them pound the table almost daily on the religious theme. McCain tried to wean the party when he ran against Bush and then flipped and crawled in bed with them because he thinks they cost him the battle with Bush. It was why I posted the feelings of Americans when it comes to evolution vrs creationism to Iktomi. The religious "ignorant" can decide the ultimate winner to the WH. I think that is something democrats need to be very careful of....... steve
