Re: resolution,
300 dpi is what is used for the "normal" resolution for my stuff. 300 file dpi was chosen because the output of my printer is 300 dpi. This works out to be about 22 mb for a tiff file of an 8x10 photo in RGB, or about 28 mb in CMYK.
