"Every day more mess is dealt with, leaving less to deal with." It depends on how much of the rest of the economy was counting indirectly on the mess, i.e. refinancing, second mortgages etc. for their prosperity. What percent of Americans are buying daily necessities with borrowed money? It all sounds insane here from north of the border; hard to know the degree of insanity.
