skeeter, I don't know all the inheritance tax rules because I haven't begun any estate planning yet. It's enough for me to know they exist and they could be a factor for me some day. >nowhere does warren buffet say you can't help out your family.< Right, he just says that if you give it all to charity like him you shouldn't get taxed but if your personal values reflect a desire to give it all to your family, very close friends and those that loved you in life etc.. you should be taxed. He also acknowledges that he didn't want to give it to government because he wanted to get good value for his money and wanted that money to reflect his personal values. If you don't understand the "issue" I have with this point of view then I can't explain it to you.
