Until the past decade, the mauve stinger has rarely been spotted so far north in British or Irish waters, and scientists cite this as evidence of global warming.

I have been in Ireland, and while this is unusual, it is not impossible nor even improbable. Ireland is bathed by the Gulf Stream and the water is very warm compared to the climate on the mainland. It affects the local climate somewhat, so much that palm trees grow in southern Ireland. The southern coast is very exotic with mountains and palm trees, and landscape shots could be mistaken for a tropical island.

Just another example of an idiot expaining something complex to other idiots as "global warming".
