C2, The great thing about a strong defence of a position is that one can then draw conclusions based on the strength of the points. While much of what you say is true, the points were unconvincing, which makes me even more sure that Kindle will be a winner. Like SPOT - see findmespot.com which is going to be a huge success.

Excellent defence, but I remained languid.

Don't worry about bathwater electrocution. Firstly, power supplies in bathrooms have switches which turn the supply off if the electricity goes missing, such as into a bath instead of the battery. Even if somebody gets 230 volts [we have high voltage here which makes fatal bath tub electrocutions much easier] by running an extension cord, the recharger cuts the voltage down so much and limits electrical flows so much that the most one would detect by immersing the Kindle would be a tingle.

Kindles will surely be water-proof as people will want to read in baths and at least heavy humidity will be an occupational hazard for them.

I'm sure people will still want some books, just as I call into a corner store at times. But success doesn't mean total replacement of past technology. One can still hire a farrier to get horse shoes nailed to hooves. But mostly people move around on tyres. Person-kilometres are mainly by pneumatic tyre than horse shoe.
