We would love to expand The Island ECN with new products, like options. The major problem is with the current regualtory structure. We are currently working with the Securities and Exchange Commision to convert The Island ECN(ISLD) into a new type of Exchange. The SEC has published a concept release that outlines how these new Exchanges might work. When ISLD becomes this new Exchange it will allow us to offer all types of new products for trading. While I excpect it will take many months, or even years for these changes to happen. I will keep you posted as thing develop.
