Police are notoriously brutal and thuggish. They love it when somebody is a problem as they get to thump them good and proper. The man did not threaten anybody. There were 4 police, with pretty muscular-looking physiques. The taser is increasingly the first thing they use when somebody is not instantly co-operative.

I wonder if they taser their disputatious children at the first sign of recalcitrance. It wasn't as though there was any emergency which required instant action.

The whole terrorism drama has been a great thing for police and other authoritarians. It gives them carte blanc to really get stuck in. Watch them strutting around, ordering people here there and everywhere. They love it.

So far, they have shot and killed a Brazilian electrician, an upset person in an air-bridge, a confused Canadian immigrant and no doubt others who have not been publicized.

I haven't heard of an actual terrorist being stopped.

I wonder what the policeman was whacking at with his baton [on the dead man in Canada]. The target of his blows wasn't evident. Maybe it was the man's throat to stop him gurgling? One would think 4 police could handle one confused immigrant who couldn't speak English a bit better than that.
