Hi John,

Did you happen to catch the president of Walmart.com on CNBC this morning?? He was VERY upbeat and positive! Despite the interviewer giving him many opportunities to couch and soften his optimism, he absolutely did not. WMT's consensus estimates are actually trending up ever so slightly, according to yahoo finance. So is the stock price........right smack dab in the face of all of this unnerving financial news and recent market dip. The stock is in a clear 3 month uptrend. Now, I admit to being partial to WMT, yes, boring old, hasn't done a damn thing for years Walmart, as I find the stock to be an incredibly safe and CHEAP investment at these levels, that imo will easily outperform the market averages going forward from here (for investors with a longer term horizon). But then again, what do I know, as I was early and started loading up a year ago. Honestly, at these levels, and this earnings multiple, I'm happy to keep loading up and did so today. IMHO, no one, and I mean no one, has a better pulse on the American consumer/economy than Walmart, and they came out today and screamed "we're doin' ok!!" :-)

I'm anything but sophisticated lol. Happy to buy the high quality babies being thrown out with the bath water......

I feel the same way about Wilmington Trust, but that's for another post I guess.

By the way, the intermountain west had the warmest fall on record........it was nice for gardening and golf! ;-)
