Rudy is a superior candidate to any of the Democrats. For that matter Mitt and even Mike are superior candidates to all of the democrat candidates. We can hope that the SCOTUS will reaffirm the right to bear arms. As Britain has proved if your outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns.

President Bush failed to provide adult supervision to the spendthrift Republican Congress. Presumably democrats would make the same mistake. The out of control spending was part of the reason for the disaster of 2006. Another had to do with Republicans' failure to act to protect the sanctity of human life. We had a Republican Congress and an overtly Christian President who had campaigned with the promise of a Pro Life Constitutional Amendment. Once safely reelected he declined to follow through. The religious right lost interest in supporting people whose promises were empty.

"I wonder what these voters think a republican president will accomplish with a more empowered democrat congress. Lott leaving the senate leaves the seat open to add one democrat seat."

Because Trent is retiring now, Halley Barbor will appoint a replacement who will run with one year of seniority and experience in 2008. Perhaps the seat will be retained. Who can blame any Republican for finding life with these unethical democrats to be less than fun?
