When that wall came down and the Soviets began withdrawing from Berlin and East Germany, it was replaced with Yankee Go Home signs. All my friends in the Army felt very welcome in Germany. Three of them ended up with German wives. The last of them left about ten years ago. Maybe they just felt welcome from the girls.
