Recent article on Ethanol. The number of bearish and negative articles on ethanol in the last few months has been overwhelming.

The WSJ cited some enlightened leaders today in an article which was about 95% negative on ethanol, citing just about every negative source it could find and no balance of positive ones.

"Cuban President Fidel Castro has called using food crops for fuel a "sinister idea." President Hugo Chávez of Venezuela ordered troops to secure his oil-producing nation's grain supplies, saying corn was to be used for food, not fuel."

Needless to say, the farmers are in for a fight. But I think the Majors have already lost this round. Even if they win at a national level, many states are working towards a renewable standard that favors ethanol.
