That was my question, and no, that kind of response would not be acceptable because it's not honest... you can't separate the person from the zeitgeist, regardless of any other external "causes and forces" that may have been operating at the time, it cannot be denied that Rudy pull NYC out from the ashes long before 9/11... for the poster to say he obtained his info from newspapers and TV cannot be true, it has been very widely known for a long time what Rudy has been able to accomplish during his term as Mayor in NYC, these are facts, they can't be buried with mindless and hateful remarks without being challenged...
Also, in that poster's comment about Rudy, there is an element of ridicule about how Rudy now parades around with 9/11 as his campaign banner... the poster's underlying anger is bubbling to the surface...
If the comment came across as sincere, then I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it, but the comment came across as just another mindless and unthinking liberal talking point, so it needs to be questioned...
