Not trying involves possible loss of life too. You want all your ducks in a row before pursuing peace and to that i say, that will never happen and thus you will never have peace. One could conclude that there is not much difference between your position and that of the extremists on the other side. If you have been reading sarman's posts recently, you will see the opening more clearly. In the end we can hate them and them us for the perceived historical inequities, but the average Joe in israel and palestine might just want to settle this and build a life free from conflict. None of this means that i am an optimist here. Odds are no better than 50/50 but its worth trying and creating good will between folks like me and folks like sarman. Without the israel/pal issue, i dont know that our views differ all that much.
