Force and brutality on it’s own has never lasted for long as a ruling venue. Invitation, accommodation, and support to join us in the human family is also a necessity for success.
It seems our government, with our support has made a total commitment to stand up to threats from what we’ve come to label Islamofascism and Muslim terrorism. We are doing ok on the military front but we all know there has to be more, there has to be involvement in human interest areas, humanitarian support, education, diplomacy, globalization, modernization, etc etc etc. a major and comprehensive commitment is required not just from force of arms but from the hearts of all humanity as well... or the risks we have taken for the common good is all for naught.
When we make one step forward militarily and diplomatically we can be knocked back three steps by the interference from spoilers like the well known terrorist groups who play on the fears of both sides ruining treaties and peace accords. And from those spoilers from within who enjoy persecuting and brutalizing innocent Muslims who’ve accepted our invitation to join us at the table of discourse.
We have seen some progress with Muslims who were once leaning to the Anti-American side when we show them they don’t have to accept life under brutal dictatorships and that if they choose a viable alternative we will stand with the willing. The world of human beings has clashed and blended, so that in free countries we no longer are separated by borders.
We have millions of Foreign Muslims in the USA who seem supportive of a democratic way of life and this is true in other countries as well.
The savage approach, in spite of the fact that it is attractive to listen to, is no less and no different in consequence than that of the most radical in Middle Eastern countries. We have put ourselves at risk for the sake of common good. Have you stopped to consider that you may be working against our commitment toward common good. |
