I have stated my position clearly time and time again. One of the worst things to come out of the Bush administration was the massive spending increases which led to the renewal of huge budget deficits.

Raising taxes might or might not be better than deficit spending, depending on how much "supply-side economics" you believe in. But that's like getting the nation off of oil by drilling in ANWR. Raise taxes and you'll greatly encourage government to freely spend more.
