Once all the networks are connected outside the homes; the industry has been organizing MoCA, multimedia on Coax(HFC) alliance. This has been the push by satellite TV folks on home network, multi room installations. Since then, the telephone companies(Verizon and AT&T) have been interested to use copper wires to connect all the rooms inside the house or apartment.

The problems is the set-top box design. Cable operators are not yet ready to derive any revenue from inside the house installations. MSOs think people only needed a hybrid splitter to connect to all the rooms.

What the cable MSOs missed is the concept of home theater installation, on demand services, and multiple memory device connections for a home library. These devices include ipod, iphone and laptops or desktops. Which means a home library with home theater facilities, connecting computers and home theater with one set-top box.

So, the process of MoCA is slow, until revenue can be visualized from home owners' investments.
