I did not know that and I'm happy to see that he had visitors....great!

From what I remember (and it isn't much) his wife died and he went to Alaska to live alone. Was the love for his wife so great that he couldn't stand to live in society anymore? If that is the case then I think it is sad that he didn't learn to grieve and live "in society".

I'm not judging the man, I try my best not to judge anyone. It is my wish that he had a wonderful and happy life. But when I watched the show I saw a man living alone in nature trying to fill the void of his lost wife. That made me sad.
