We finally agree on something. I have always contended that AOL will be a channel or cluster of channels on the web. Nothing more, nothing less. So, why should it be valued like a cable company, which had a locally-sanctioned monopoly? AOL is analogous to the Lifetime channel, not TCI. AOL's hope lies in content creation, a business in which, thusfar, it has not demonstrated much apptitude. If it can develop content, it can survive, but it still would not be able to justify these valuations.
