Socialism doesn't restrict freedoms. Voluntary socialism (people coming together and agreeing to share everything) doesn't restrict freedom. Enforced socialism, including the normal government enforced socialism does restrict freedom. Re: Poland Its hard to buy into the above growth rates with the unemployment rate north of 11% a Perhaps, but the employment rate is south of 11%. Its 8.8%, compared to 8.7% in France.
