Cross Lake Minerals Ltd -

Initial assay values for massive sulphide intersection, Sheraton-Timmins project

Cross Lake Minerals Ltd CRNShares issued 250280801997-10-09 close $1.4Monday Oct 13 1997Mr Henry Ewanchuk reports Assays for the massive-semi-massive sulphide intersection in hole CLS 97-16 between 278 to 311m have yielded weighted average grades over 33m (108 ft) of 6.71% zinc, 1.86% lead, 106.95 grams/tonne or 3.12 oz/ton silver, 0.16% copper and 55 ppb or 0.055 grams/tonne gold, with a cut silver value of 10 oz/ton (342.8 grams/tonne). The gross metal value for this intersection is US$114.68 per ton using current prices. This includes a section from 281 to 287m (6m) containing a weighted average grade of 18.4% zinc, 314 grams/tonne silver (9.16 oz/ton), 9.28% lead, and 0.69% copper, 0.183 grams/tonne gold giving a contained metal value of US$345.17 per ton at current prices (with silver assays cut to 10 oz/ton). This zone is hosted in a cherty rhyolite which stratigraphically overlies a sericite and chlorite schist zone containing cherty bands and disseminated sphalerite (zinc) with local galena (lead). Additional mineralization is present both above and below this massive sulphide section. Zinc mineralization continues below 311m in the hole associated with a rhyolite breccia (fragmental) and assays for this section along with other parts of this drill hole will be released when they are completed. Additionally, check assays are being conducted on a number of the samples. (c) Copyright 1997 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com
