But what's really taking place is a massive shakedown in which our sympathies for the poor are being played while our pockets are being picked. The United Nations should be ashamed of itself.

That's pretty funny. I wonder what they say about the shakedown by HAL and so many other companies in Iraq. Not to mention our virtuous military contractors even in peaceful times.

Nothing like a clash between civilizations to shake the change loose.... Except in the case of climate change, there was a consensus among thousands of scientists in dozens of different countries, while in the case of Iraq, there was a consensus of politicians in a couple of countries along with bribed politicians in a oouple of dozen other countries.
