Re christianity and individual rights....wrong nadine. christianity was a slaves religion...be good and submisive in this life and be rewarded in the after life.. Please also note that the church burned at the stake scientists who proposed ideas contrary to church doctorine.ie giordano bruno. its the protestants who first enjoyed the fruits of free thought. its no coincedince that northern protestant europe developed so differently from southern catholic europe. the south and east of europe still opressed its peasents well into the 19th century.
