The question of torture has been resolved as a legal issue in the US. Torture or conspiracy to commit torture is illegal in the United States and elsewhere according to US law. Any citizen, Military service personnel, or government authority violating that law is committing a punishable crime. The geneva convention has nothing to do with that. Torture is illegal. In addition, it is immoral, abhorent, and condemnable by all decent people across time and circumstance. Ruff can get excited over his blood lust all he wants but until the laws are changed he has nothing but his own drool to stand on. I attempted to discuss the nature of torture a few days ago so we could explore limits and definitions that practically differentiate torture from other types of conflict, punishment, or interrogation ... but the ruff and others were too busy waving their pom poms for any productive discourse to take place. So be it, gem
