Probably until it slides into the sea. I suspect we won't be discussing the possibility of an ice free Arctic Ocean for more than 3-5 years. After that, it'll be "Remember when the Arctic had ice?"



Wharf, you do recall that the Arctic and Antarctic are at opposite ends of the Earth, don't you?

The Antarctic ice as a whole is getting thicker, not thinner.

And the polar bears of the Artic, who are supposed to be so threatened by global warming have increased their numbers 5 fold in the last 40 years.
