If your referring back to your social security analogy, well we understand demographics a lot better than we understand weather and climate.

And comparing social security to ice melt in Greenland? - Well the ice melt in Greenland has to increase by orders of magnitude if its going to be a severe problem for the world in the century. Social Security spending is already very large. If analysis of social security spending being a big problem depended on very complex but very incomplete computer models which suggested that spending would go up 100 times, than I might be just as skeptical of them as I am of some of the global warming projections.
