nadine air pollution is not in doubt...nor our crippleing dependance on oil.....if in working to clean the air and gain independence from oil imports we happen to attenuate global warming so much the better

Since the first two are not in doubt, ameliorating them makes sense even if it happens to make global warming worse. My point is, we don't know enough about global warming to know if any particular action will have any effect on it. To spend any amount of money based on these models, which model only a small part of the climate (the part that shows the greenhouse effect, d'oh!) is nuts. To spend money to cut pollution and oil dependence makes lots of sense. Unfortunately, the only working technology that will help us much is nuclear, which we would have much more of if it hadn't been for the enviro-hysteria of 25 years ago.
