First, any argument that tries to use a regional phenomenon to disprove a global trend is dead in the water.

No, of course not, they can only be used to PROVE a global trend, which is why Al Gore et al treat us regularly to photos of that West Antarctic ice sheet melting as PROOF of global warming.

There is acute disagreement in the scientific community as to whether the Antarctic ice mass is getting thicker or thinner now, and whether further global warming will make it get thicker or thinner. This is what happens when your models don't do cloud formation and precipitation very well.

The real question is money and attention being finite, how much do you spend on an unproved theory?
