You tried to defend (a) by bringing up the national debt, which is stupid because even if the debt magically went away tomorrow, the fact is that SS would still not be accounted for properly and that it would still face a $45 trillion shortfall in the future.

You tried to defend (b) by bringing up four years of "surplus" under Clinton, which of course only proves my point and disproves yours. But to you, it doesn't matter as long as you can tell yourself that Clinton balanced the budget all by himself.

There is only one explanation that fits your debating tactics ... ABB.
