Not as many small to medium size mines anymore. In the old days any hole in the ground was a mine. The grade and tonnage did not matter as long as it produced enough ore to keep one or more digging.

I was here this spring and every hole in the ground was called a mine. More of a hideout than a ghost town.

A lot of time it's just lunacy that keeps people going but those loons are the ones that build pyramids. I like to wave at them as they run by.
