><>...Jack, Mr Drosnin did not do any of the research, in fact><>
The team of scholars(Mathematicians) who did, have nothing to say about Mr.Drosnins controversial writings. One of the researchers, Dr. Eli Rips is supposed to have been a friend of Mr.Drosnin and has since cut off all ties with him.
As to the findings of the research by Dr. Rips et.al(equidistant letter spacing... or commonly referred to as ELS), and the conclusions of the Book "Bible Code", there seems to be many differences. What the differences are has not been made clear.
I have read much of Mr.Drosnins writings and find, much of what he concludes,to be quite contrary to much of the Bible itself. Some of the exact language that is said to have been found is quite alarming, as to relating it to coming from ther mouth of our Divine Father.
Most of the names and dates(Even those dates which Jesus told us that "No man knoweth") and events that were said to have been found, have no relevance to God's message to mankind and serve no purpose in God's plan. This "research" also does not in any way shape or form bring any light on the all encompassing relevant message of the Bible, that message being Jesus Christ the Messiah.
Now on a different note. I do believe it is noteworthy if this book does in-fact cause more people to reconsider and re-evaluate their atheistic hearts. It can be just a beginning to lead them to Christ. It certainly has caused many to think about the origins of the Bible....But Faith comes by hearing, hearing the word of God. Not what "secret codes" and decoding researchers say is the word of God....
There is considerable danger in accepting "secret codes" as God's word...The obvious of course is that just a handful of researchers" can even beging to decode the Hebrew Bible, Not to mention that the program devised to effect such a task was developed for just such a cause.
Another danger in accepting the "secret code" is that this may be just the beginning of an influx of influential "books"of people telling us "what God has said". which can be Much more insidious than the days before the Bible was translated into many languages. When the peolpe of God had no choice but to accept what those leaders said the Bible said....Because ordiniary people had no access and could not read the manuscripts....Thank God for King James and his Godly vision.
It could get to thepoint that the "de-coders" might find that God has said in secret code of-course that "The NT is a hoax.!"...Maybe not in such strong language,( OR maybe in stronger language..who knows) but the message being the same.
I do not say that ther are not known acrostics within the scriptures, for I know there are, but one does not need a decoding program to ascertain them ...AND...they all tell of a deeper message from God concerning God and His message to mankind.
These de-coding programs are now available for sale.!
In any case my friend in my opinion, it makes for interesting reading but so does________-_______well you fill in the blank.
Is this too another gospel?
In my opinion Jack, God speaks real well for Himself, and one does not need a de-coder to understand what He has said, Just a sincere heart to konw Him and His precious Son, our LORD and Savior, Jesus the Christ, The way, the truth, and the life.!
To God be the Glory.!
Have a blessed day Shalom...><> |
